Wedding QR Code Photo Sharing: 10 Ideas Guests Actually Use

A QR code is the easiest way for wedding guests to share their photos, but only if they notice it. A tiny code tucked in a corner gets ignored. A code that is part of your decor, with a clear reason to scan it, gets used all night.

Here are ten ideas that fit naturally into a wedding and help you collect far more guest photos.

Signs and stationery

These are the placements guests see without looking for them:

  • Table number cards with the QR code on the back.
  • A framed sign on each table that says "Snap it, scan it, share it."
  • A large QR code on the welcome board at the entrance.
  • Printed on the menu or order-of-service card.
  • On your save-the-date or wedding website, so guests know about it in advance.

Moments where phones are already out

Put the code where people are already taking pictures:

  • Next to the photo booth or selfie wall.
  • At the bar, where guests wait with a phone in hand.
  • Near the dance floor, on a sign by the DJ booth.

After the wedding

Some of the best photos arrive after the day is over:

  • Include the upload link in your thank-you cards or messages.
  • Send it to your wedding group chat the morning after.

What to write next to your QR code

Keep the message short and remove any doubt about effort. Something like "Share your photos and videos with us. Scan with your camera, no app needed" works well. If guests think they need to download something or sign up, most will not bother.

It also helps to say why: "We want to see the day through your eyes" gives guests a reason to take part.

Test it before the big day

Scan your printed code with a couple of different phones before you print in bulk. Make sure it opens the upload page quickly and that the code is large enough to scan from a normal distance, at least 2.5 cm (1 inch) across on table cards.

Pixevent lets you create your album, test the guest upload flow privately, and share the QR code only once everything looks right.
